[For weeks Zevran and Bucky had been dancing together in a perfect marriage of both their styles. They even choreographed Bucky's final performance together. When the time came to choose his partner, Bucky tries to convince Pierce to allow him to free reign. Of course that didn't happen, and when Pierce found out why Zevran was banned from seeing him outside of campus grounds.
It had not turned out how they hoped, but a intimate duet between men was not heard of in the world of dance. All their hard work would surely go to waste, and all the time that they had spend together...Zevran was now quite attached to that Russia boy in those tiny briefs.
Zevran knew he was the only one that could give Bucky the partner he needed, and there was only one way to get past Pierce. So he shaved his legs, wore those pink tights, even a leotard. It still didn't seem enough though, he ended up with a ballet sweater and a sheer skirt. He was getting there, even passable now. But he wanted to go that extra mile and really give Bucky something to stare at. He pulled his hair into a bun, covered his tattoo and face with make up, lipstick, eyelashes, the works. He wanted to look beautiful, and he did. He couldn't decide if walking in heels was the hardest or if pitching his voice up was. Either way, Pierce bought it and the part in the duet belonged to Zelda.
He walks as straight as he could in his shoes. He had some practice but man, these were tough. He is meeting Bucky again, or well for the first time. He couldn't wait to see the look on his face. His heart feels like its about to beat out of his chest as he comes to their private studio. He doesn't knock before he enters, because he knows for a fact that Bucky will not hear it over the music, and he's been to his house before so he sees no point. He sets his bag down and starts to quickly lace up his dancing slippers. He finishes just before the music ends and he waits with a smirk on his face for Bucky to notice him.]
[Bucky couldn't stand Alexander Pierce. At one point he had looked up to him, needed the guidance when he had no one else to help him. He'd needed the support, financially, so that he could get training and one day get into a proper dancing troupe. He'd work hard, do his time, save up all his money, and then he'd retire young and do what he really wanted to do - dance simply to dance and show others what dancing could do for them.
But then he'd met Zevran. Young and blond and all that attitude.
His dancing style was so different, fluid where Bucky was rigid, improvisation when Bucky's steps were routine, but goddammit they were beautiful together. Moving together in harmony, chemistry no matter what they were doing, and he'd even showed Pierce a recording of them but it wasn't enough. Pierce was by the rules. No men dancing together at a show. It just wasn't going to happen. He was devastated and it showed.
They didn't let him sit in on the auditions, he had no idea who his female duet partner would be. They'd be good, lovely probably, but not the one he wanted them to be. She's supposed to come to the private studio, they'll talk and then they'll dance and then they'll force themselves to be compatible.
He's so worked up that he turns the music up loud as he waits, dances and lets himself go, closes his eyes and feels. Bucky doesn't notice that she's arrived, that she's standing their waiting, and when the music stops, so does he, but he doesn't look up. At first.]
Nice to meet you, Zelda. I'm Bucky.
[He sticks a hand out and then, only then, do his grey eyes flit up. Bucky's mouth falls open - at the same time he knows it's Zevran, he can't help but think how beautiful he looks. But he doesn't understand.]
[He repeats with a coy smile as he steps closer, with most of the grace of a natural ballerina. He might look the part, but changing his movement were difficult. There was still that roughness in his walk, and a slight swagger in his step as he closes the gap between them. A finger pokes him gently in the chest.]
[Bucky's breath is caught in his throat. He'd been so pissed off about Zev not being allowed to be his dance partner that he hadn't considered their other options. Like this. Not that his mind would have gone here at first, but..]
What are you doing?
[His tone is chastising, he is concerned he'll get caught, but damn if Bucky doesn't want to pick him up and twirl him around. They're going to look so good together.] You know the steps. Dance with me.

[He grins at that reaction and he draws closer to catch his lips into a kiss.]
I get all dressed up for you and all you want to do is dance?
[The smile turns to a smirk as his hands slide to Bucky's.] We knows the steps by heart.
